Welcome to a fun filled year of Awana! Thank you for entrusting your children to us as we seek to grow them in the knowledge of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Awana has been used in churches for over 60 years to train children to know, love, & serve God. It is a wonderful ministry & our prayer is that it will change the lives of each child that comes through our doors.
I encourage you to call 919-273-2799 if you have any questions or conerns about Awana.
What is Awana?
Awana is an international youth program offered by our church as a positive influence in the spiritual development of our area's kids. The Awana name is derived from a verse in the Bible found in 2 Timothy 2:15,
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth."
We encourage you to work with your child to help him or her learn the verses in the handbooks. With your help and our exciting program, we will see tremendous growth in the children. Take a few minutes a day to review and we're sure your child will surprise you on how he or she can accomplish the goals set forth in the program. Our people are committed and dedicated to serving as leaders, and we trust to see great and mighty things happen in our club this year!
Please take note of some special dates & mark them on your calendar:

All club meetings are divided into 3 segments:
Handbook Time consists of interactions between clubbers and their leaders as clubbers recite memory verses and discuss what each verse means.
Game Time offers clubbers the opportunity to participate as team members in physical activities, which can help develop team spirit, good membership, coordination skills, and self-confidence. They will alternate between games and music every other week. During music time they will be taught songs that glorify Jesus Christ.
Story Time includes real life events from the Bible, covering a variety of topics relevant to growing up in and coping with the pressures of today's society as a Christian. Children are often amazed that the events and things discussed during story time are real and actually happened. Encourage your child to share with you what they learned from their story time each Wednesday. You will be amazed what they remember!
